INEOS Polyolefins' Technology Centre
In Brussels, in a place called “Neder-Over-Hembeek” (NOH), INEOS Polyolefins run
a major Technology Centre, hosted in Solvay’s Research and Technology Park.
In this Technology Centre, more than 100 employees work on Research, Development
and Technical Service. Just for Polyolefins. More than half of them are highly educated
engineers and Ph.D., coming from a wealth of different countries, cultures and industrial
heritages.
Designing the molecular architecture that will provide our customers with the polymers
exhibiting the right combination of end-use properties, is at the heart of the activity
of the Technology centre.
This means that, from catalyst evaluation to end-use properties evaluation, all
the steps of product development (bench scale polymerization, testing, processing,
structure-properties science, additivation, product stewardship,…) are looked after
in “NOH”.
The Technology developments directed from NOH are also supported by the pilot plants
in Italy (Rosignano), France (Lavera) and USA (Naperville), covering a unique range
of catalysts and processes for our three polyolefins families (PP, linear polyethylenes
(HD, LL) and ramified polyethylenes (LD)).
Besides its main Technology activity, INEOS Polyolefins also host a number of other
support functions in NOH: Customer Service for Export, Accounting for Belgium, INEOS
Sales Belgium and its branches, Information Technologies coordination, …
