Extrusion Coating

Extrusion Coating

Extrusion Coating is a technique that permits the extrusion of a thin polymer layer onto a substrate – cardboard, paper, aluminium foil, film – for the production of multi-layer packaging.

Extrusion coating is used in several applications like liquid carton packaging, photographic paper, flexible & commercial packaging.

INEOS Polyolefins offers a full range of polymer grades starting form LDPE, the most widely used thermoplastic for extrusion coating, over LLDPE, HDPE and PP satisfying all our customer needs. Thanks to continuous improvement of our products, we are able to offer you a product range that meets all your requirements amongst which excellent processing behaviour, outstanding adhesion, heat sealing and optical properties. For applications requiring enhanced adhesion over LDPE, we recommend the use of one of our methacrylic acid copolymers.
INEOS Polyolefins has launched the new ELTEX® PF metallocene product range, dedicated to film end uses. The ELTEX® PF metallocene product range will be added to the well established existing LLDPE product mix. This continues the strategy announced earlier in the year of up-grading and expanding the assets, with an increased focus on high-value, differentiated polymers.

INEOS Polyolefins is committed to have close and continuous collaboration with customers, machine manufacturers and brand owners in order to continuously improve the performance of our resins.

INEOS Polyolefins has a dedicated team of technical experts and a world-class laboratory extrusion coating line to support customers and maximise the performance of their machine and technology with our grades. Do not hesitate to contact our technical team for advice through your local contact.
