LDPE for film applications
The LDPE grade range from INEOS Olefins & Polymers varies from standard homopolymers
to
EBA (Ethylene Butyl Acrylate) copolymers & ionomers. These materials are
used in a wide range of applications, such as stretch hoods, collation shrinkwrap,
lamination film and consumer packaging.
LDPE is made in both Cologne, Germany and Bamble, Norway using autoclave technology.
These materials
(particularly the low melt index grades) show better toughness,
higher sealing strength and range, and better holing resistance in shrink film than
similar LDPE grades from tubular plants.
The EBA copolymers made in Bamble are used in several technically demanding end
uses and are particularly suitable for stretch hoods, offering higher elasticity
than other copolymers. |
